The company Modern Creation München is founded in 1976 in Munich, Germany, by Michael Cromer. In its early years shoes and apparel products are also produced under the label’s name. Later, however, the corporation decides to specialize in the production of premium leather accessories as MCM bags, MCM wallets and suitcases. MCM considers itself the German answer to Louis Vuitton. For a long time the Cognac Visetons collection compromised of a range of suitcases in various sizes is the bestseller of the brand. In the nineties the company is represented by about 250 shops worldwide. Michael Jackson and Lady Diana are among the most popular customers. Particularly in the Asian market the brand proves profitable; In the Asian crisis in 1997 the company experiences a minor drop in sales.

With the cooperation with Michael Michalsky in 2005 the company continues to push forward. The German designer edits the look of the MCM shoppers, MCM bags and the overall designs of all leather products which provides the brand with a new, modern twist. From that moment on the company decides to focus more on trends: Eye-catching patterns as leopard and python from now on embellish the diversity of bags and wallets. The bay leaf and the diamond continue to be the distinctive features of the MCM monogram and, together with other embellishments, ensure the easy recognition of the brand. A brass plate in the inner lining of the bag guarantees the authenticity of every single item and, on request, can be labelled with the owner’s name.
